Register soon for the Newton Blackmour 5k run/walk on April 9

On April 9th, 2011, there will be a 5K run/walk held in Black Creek. It will be on the Newton Blackmour State Trail, which is a recreation trail that is used for running, walking, biking, horseback riding, etc. (non motorized vehicles) in the spring, summer and fall. In the winter the trail is also open to snowmobiles. The trail currently runs from the Duck Creek Trail (just east of Seymour) to Hwy 47 in Black Creek (9 miles). When it is completed it will continue through Shiocton to New London (23 miles). The proceeds from the 5K will go to Friends of Newton Blackmour Trail, a non-profit organization, to continue the development of the trail.
